All of our ancient ancestors lived close to the Earth and understood the connection between all living beings. Although we live in a modern world where most people have lost awareness of this profound and helpful connection with nature -- OUR nature -- we can learn how to re-enter this reality, and walk in both worlds. Power Animal exploration is a fun and simple path towards healing, balance, empowerment, improved relationships and joy. Join me in the discovery! ~ Amy Beth Katz, M.A.

I took this photo in my very own garden... discovered that when I water the plants, within moments this little guy would come out to sip the dew... who knew that a ruby throated hummingbird lived in a tree at my doorstep?
ReplyDeleteI feed these little beauties all winter here in the Arizona desert. Recently I noticed on my patio what I thought was a crumpled hibiscus flower. I opened the door to pick it up and found it was NOT a dropped flower...It was a hummingbird. I never see them on the ground and soon I realized it had died. But it was still shining in color, ruby throat, green wings. Why had it died where I could find it? I was deeply affected....I gently picked it up and placed it in a small nest I had found (I collect nests). I had never been able to view one so close....and it put me in a state of wonder. Later in the day, I buried this little treasure in a bed of rose petals and gratitude.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gift it gave you! Even in death they offer beauty and wonder to the world.
